Welcome! I’m Mickey Lower, though most of my friends—big and small—know me simply as The Zoo Lady. For over 20 years, I have had the privilege of turning children’s imaginations into reality through the vibrant art of face painting.
Our Story
What started as a passion for theatre and education eventually blossomed into a colorful career that has taken me from local birthday parties in Central Illinois to the high seas with Royal Caribbean cruises.
With a background as a home economics and theatre teacher, I’ve always believed that every child deserves a "Disney-quality" experience. After attending international face painting conventions and training with the best artists in the world, I realized I could bring that same level of magic and professional artistry to our community.
What We Do
The Zoo Lady isn’t just about simple cheek art. We specialize in bold, eye-catching face masks and fun arm designs that stand out at any event.
My team—the Zoo Crew is known for combining artistic detail with efficient service. Our team can paint 40-50 designs per hour, keeping lines moving while still giving each guest a design they’re excited to show off.
It’s the balance of speed and quality that keeps the fun going and guests coming back for more.
